Yala Peak Climbing is one of the beautiful snowy peaks of the Langtang region which is located near the Nepal-Tibet border. As this peak is one of the lower climbing peaks in Nepal, climbers can collect full of beautiful experiences during this peak climbing. This peak is not technically difficult to climb, but a little physically demanding. But, with proper planning and preparation, interested climbers can easily climb this peak no prior experience is required. For those who want to learn how to climb snowy peaks, Yala peak may be the best destination for them. Through the easy journey, climbers will reach Yala peak summit and can see stunning views of beautiful mountains such as Langtang Lirung, Lenpo Gang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Langshishari, Naya kanga, and Shishapangma and amazing views of Tibet.
There are several typical villages of Tamang people on the way to the Yala base camp. These ethnic people are remarkable for their old preserved culture and traditions. So, during this peak climbing journey climbers will get the opportunity to know and experience the important hidden aspects of Tamang culture. Tamang people follow the Buddhist religion so, during the Yala peak journey climbers can see the numerous colorful monasteries and sacred Gompas with peoples’ religious rituals and festivals.
Yala peak’s climbing journey starts from Syabrubesi after a 7/8 hrs bus drive from Kathmandu. From Syabrubesi, you will reach Yala base camp after completing the exciting journey of Lama Hotel, Kyanjing Gompa, and Tserko Ri. You will go through the Langtang National Park where you can see the beautiful forests of rhododendron and conifer, different species of birds and butterflies, and different species of wild animals such as red panda, wild dog, musk deer, pika, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Thar, Ghoral, Serow, rhesus monkey and common langur. From the Yala base camp, you will finally reach the Yala summit. After rewarding yourself with the beautiful scene from the Yala summit, the peak climbing journey completes and returns to Syabrubesi via the same route.

Making a historical journey toward Kathmandu is significant. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International airport (TIA), you will be greeted by a representative from Destination Himalaya Treks & Expedition. After undergoing and completing your customs formalities (Visa, etc.) our representative with a Destination Himalaya Treks & Expedition Placard will pick you up from the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. Later in the evening, you will be a part of an excellent "Welcome Dinner" hosted in your honor followed by a soulful Nepalese cultural program winding up your memorable journey with a purpose. The next day dawns with something new on the horizon awaiting us, after an ideal breakfast we drive past the northwestern hills of Kathmandu. As the vehicle briskly speeds across the paved roads the astounding Himalayan views at the backdrop and local people engaged in their daily activities in their carefully carved terraced farms and fields on the outskirts of their villages are tremendous. Ideally, our journey comes to a short halt at the impressive Trishuli Bazaar for much-needed lunch and then we head towards Dhunche and then descend to Syabrubesi. You can also book a private jeep from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi for a comfortable ride paying an extra fare. Overnight in Syabrubesi.
The next day a long enduring walk leads us through the Langtang Khola Valley passing through a deep forest and into the Lama Hotel. We catch a steady glimpse of the Langtang National Park nestled with diverse flora and fauna. As we move on further you will come across the place filled with vibrant rhododendrons and other vegetation and retire for camping at the significant Lama Hotel engulfed amidst a tranquil and calm forest suited for adventurers having an intense affinity for the varied wilderness. Overnight in Lama Hotel.
This morning brings in an uphill task of traversing along the rhododendron forests home to numerous wildlife, such as Musk Deer, Himalayan Thar, Ghoral, and Red Pandas engaged along the indifferent sound decibels of pristine rivers and waterfalls. A splendid place providing an excellent opportunity to get a closer glimpse of the exciting Langtang Mountain range (7,200m). After being thrilled by this stupendous view, we get time to mix with the local Tamang communities and get acquainted with their traditional rituals and moods. This marks the end of our day. Overnight in Langtang village.
During this trekking particular trekking trail, we catch a spiritual glimpse of age-old prayer stones believed to make wishes come true. The villages still follow the traditional method of survival engrossed and leading their daily life on farms and domesticating animals. The entire life depends and revolves around Yak herding and grazing and is a source of livelihood for the entire local community and products are made out of Yak Cheese and Butter. Another fascinating view awaits us is that of Langtang glacier in the vicinity of Langtang Lirung. Next, we move on towards a village called Kyanjing Gompa, the final frontier of our trek where we get a fair amount of ideas about typical Tamang heritage and crafty monasteries. An exploration and acclimatization day at Kyanjing. We prepare to ascent Tserko Ri which is at an elevation of 5033m. Slowly ascend admiring the natural scenery around. Upon reaching the top, enjoy the superb views of Langtang ranges, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, and other surrounding mountains. Create some memories by clicking pictures. After spending some time, descend to Kyanjing. Rest for a while. Later, explore the nearby cheese factory and monastery. Overnight in Kyanjing.
The trek head towards Yala Peak Base Camp. The trek duration is long so start in the morning. Adoring the surrounding vistas of Naya Kanga, Tserko Ri, and other peaks, arrive at the base camp. Explore the surroundings and prepare for the following day Yala Peak summit. Set up a tent for an overnight stay.
The D-day to climb the Yala Peak. Follow all the guidelines of the expert and early in the morning head towards Yala Peak. The technical difficulties are less and the use of technical gear depends on the time of the season in which you are climbing. Slowly ascend and reach the summit of Yala Peak. From the summit, witness fabulous views of Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Lenpo Gang, Dorje Lakpa, Langshishari, Naya Kanga, and other peaks. Spend some time and take some pictures. Return to the camp and back to Kyanjing for an overnight stay.
After an amazing Yala Peak Summit, time to return. After breakfast, traverse through Langtang Khola and walk past the Langtang village, Ghode Tabela, and steep descent towards Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.
An easy trek as most of the trails consists of descents. Passing through the forested trail in the vicinity of Langtang and Ganesh Himal, and enjoying the surroundings arrive at Syabrubesi. Overnight in Syabrubesi.
The Yala Peak Climbing journey ends. Drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the lovely scenery. Overnight in a hotel.
Accommodation
During the Yala Peak Climbing, teahouses or guesthouses are the means of accommodation that are basic but comfortable. The room with an attached bathroom in the lower regions and room sharing at the peak seasons and in the higher regions. One must pay an extra charge for the use of Wi-Fi, charging electronic devices, hot water buckets, and laundry. At the Yala Base Camp, a tent is the means of accommodation.
Meals
The 3-course full meals are served during the entire trek journey in the Yala Peak Climbing. The meals are simple but with good energy portions for the trekkers to trek. Nepali Dal-Bhat is a good energy source for trekkers. Besides this, noodles, soups, fresh green vegetables, hot tea, etc. are served. It is always a good idea to carry some light snacks and choco bars with you. At the Yala Base Camp, a cook accompanies us and cooks a healthy meal for us.
Drinking Water
Drinking water in the Yala Peak Climbing trek is easily available. One can fill up the water at the teahouses paying an extra amount or purchase bottled water. It is convenient to carry a water bottle and water purifying kits for safety.
Internet connectivity & Mobile Network
The internet connectivity and phone networks are stable in the lower regions whereas it is hard to find the networks in the higher Langtang region. For the use of Wi-Fi, pay an additional charge at the teahouses or purchase a local sim with a data pack. And for emergencies, there is a satellite phone facility.

Travel Insurance
Langtang region is a high-altitude trek. The region is mostly remote with off-beat and rough trails. Peak Climbing is demanding. Hence, Travel Insurance is compulsory. Travel Insurance is a necessity for Yala Peak climbing. It must cover all emergency evacuation, medical extremities, luggage loss/theft, flight cancellations, altitude above 4000m, etc. Travel Insurance acts as a safety net so get travel insurance from a reliable insurance agency.

Suitable time for Yala Peak Climb
Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov) seasons are the suitable time to climb Yala Peak as it is very demanding. It is also best to climb in the peak seasons from the point of safety and appreciate the exceptional views. The winter season (Dec-Feb) is considered risky and only a few adventurous dare to climb. A high chance of snowfall, unpredictable weather conditions, unavailability of accommodations, and meals. From mid-Feb onwards, one can climb Yala Peak but with proper planning and packing of warm clothes and essentials. The summer season is the least preferable compared to peak seasons. The rainy season (Jun-Jul) is somewhat riskier due to muddy and slippery trails and the weather is also not clear and favorable.
Yala Peak Climbing Difficulty
Yala Peak Climbing is located in the Langtang region and this is one of the most adventurous yet achievable peak climbing. The trek routes are off-beat, rough, and least developed. Another difficulty is the unavailability of all major facilities in the higher regions. Still, Yala Peak climbing is attainable with the proper assistance and guidance of expert guides. We recommend you participate in exercises, day hikes, and physical training months before starting the peak climbing. Also, take necessary health tests before peak climbing. Altitude Sickness & Acclimatization
Altitude sickness in mountains above the altitude of 3000m is common. Thus, an acclimatization rest day is scheduled in Kyanjing to adapt to the altitude and prevent altitude sickness. The trek starts from Syabrubesi and the altitude rises to the Yala Peak summit (5500m) during the Yala Peak climbing.
