Mera Peak Climbing is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal, located in the world highest peak Sagarmatha region. After a scenic and adventurous flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, Mera Peak Climbing starts from Lukla, where you’ll pass through beautiful villages such as Tsetre, Thaksingdingma, Thagnak and Khare. From its base camp, you’ll reach Mera summit which offers the jaw dropping views of magnificent mountains such as Everest (8848.48 m), Shishapangma (8035 m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516 m), Amadablam (6812 m),Nuptse (7855 m), Gosainthan (8013 m), Kongde Himal (6300 m), Thamseku (6430 m) and Khumbila (5761m).

The morning begins from a short and impressive flight to Lukla. The lukla flight experience is quite thrilling but the best part is the flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas as you land on one of the most challenging airports. The trek starts from Lukla where you'll come across some incredible insights like Phakding a charming village with beautiful culture and ethics and Namche bazaar a bustling village with vibrant market. Although, the trail is steep and narrow, this day might be difficult to walk. There is one pass ahead called Zwatra La which makes your day more exciting, it even requires some mountaineering gear to cross this if there is snow on the pass. The trial offers you lush forests to rocky paths providing an adventurous experience of Himalayan landscape where you'll also encounter beautiful scenery and local villages. Reach Zwatra Khola, have amazing local delights and stay overnight in Chhtrakhola.
In a wonderful trekking experience today, this day is completely descending through the forest of Juniper, Rhododendron and other local vegetation. The trial offers a mix of challenging trek and stunning views with the Dudh Koshi River along the way. The climb further is steeper till we reach our destination for today, Khare. This place provides an amazing and picturesque view of the northern face of Mera Peak, our ultimate destination. We shall be using this place as our base camp before we head for climbing Mera Peak. You may also opt for some light hiking around this place. Stay overnight in Kothe.
Start your trekking carrying all necessary gears for the climbing where our respected porters and guide will accompany you. Trekking from Kothe to Thaknak is a beautiful part of journey as it offers you the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and Ngozumpa Glacier. This trek will be easy trial for you as the trial is gradual ascent, you'll be walking through the bank of river all day long where you'll enjoy the stunning view of Kusum kanagru and many other mountains. Stay overnight in Thaknak enjoying the local cuisine.
The destination for today is Khare, a small settlement we shall be using for acclimatization before we proceed for the Mera Peak climbing. Today we leave the village of Thaknak and follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to reach the summer settlement of Dig Kharka. Here the trekkers can have the pleasure of witnessing the marvelous view of the Charpate Himal. We climb carefully through the lateral moraines and to the terminal face of the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers. The climb further is steeper till we reach our destination for today, Khare. This place provides an amazing view of the northern face of Mera Peak, our ultimate destination. We shall be using this place as our base camp before we head for climbing Mera Peak. You may also opt for some light hiking around this place. Stay overnight in Khare.
As we go up, the altitude rises and makes climbing more difficult and thrilling. Thus, the whole day is scheduled as a rest day and you may also consider this day as a climbing preparation day where our guides will give you instruction regarding the climbing again and describes you about the gears and equipments. Be mentally and physically prepared for the next day climbing with proper sleep. Overnight stay in Thaknak.
You shall be one step closer to your destination to reach Mera Peak Base Camp where there shall be short yet hard trek than before. The trail begins with a climb to the height above Khaire. Trekkers shall have a gradual ascent to the snow to reach landscape then trekkers reach to the Mera La pass (5415 m) where the mesmerizing views of Mera peak can be seen clearly. It takes 4-5 hours in total to reach the Mera peak base camp. You may practice a short climbing or hike for tomorrow or you may rest. Overnight stay in Mera Peak Base Camp.
The ultimate destination of this trek begins at the early morning where you will be starting your morning from breakfast and packing necessary equipment for climbing. You shall start your journey at the early morning to get a spectacular views and create some unforgettable memories at the top and enjoy the beautiful scenario of mountains and valleys. The climbing to the Mera is quite dangerous yet adventurous. Continuing up the climbing you will be climbing slowly as climbing ascents increases the altitude increases, if there any difficulties arises then our supporting crews or Sherpas will guide you. After reacting to the top of the peak you will encounter amazing views of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Nuptse (7855m), Lobuche East (6145m), Chamlang (7319m) and other sibling peaks makes the climber forget every pain and strain overcome to reach to this point. Spending some time at the peak and fulfilling your bucket list we shall be headed back to Khare where the trek will be easier and safe. Returned back to khare and overnight in khare.
You will be walking through the bank of the river with a backdrop of splendid mountains and crossing Thagnak village. Then, you will ascend through the forests of Junipers, Rhododendron, etc. to reach Kothe. Overnight in Kothe.
You will pass Chhatra La Pass which might be difficult. And then gradually descend through a narrow trail to reach Chhatra Khola. You can stay overnight here or continue trekking to Chutanga for an overnight stay. To stay in Chhatra Khola or Chutunga will completely depend on you.
You will trek to Lukla today. An easy walk admiring the lovely scenery you will reach Lukla. Take a much-needed rest and spend happy times with the other members. Overnight in Lukla.
You will take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. You will bid farewell to the Everest region. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. Spend the day taking a rest, exploring Kathmandu city, or some shopping. Overnight in a hotel.
Accommodation in the Himalayas is mostly teahouses or lodges operated by locals. They are comfortable and simple with basic facilities. Extra facilities like hot showers, Wi-Fi, charging of electronic devices, and laundries are available by paying additional charges. Room sharing is common during the peak seasons and at high altitudes. So, prepared for it. Washrooms are mostly outside the teahouse or lodge. Tent camping is the accommodation in the Mera Peak Base Camp.
We provide only breakfast in Kathmandu and 3 meals (breakfast, lunch. dinner) a day are provided during the entire trek. Meals are provided from the teahouses or lodges which is simple but organic and healthy. Healthy foods arrangement is done in the tent camp. Nepali Dal Bhat is a chief dish served with fresh green vegetable & curry. Besides, noodles, soup, bread, roti, Sherpa stew, and hot drinks are also available. You can try continental cuisine at Namche at your own expense.
Drinking water in the Himalayas is pure and fresh. One can directly drink the natural freshwater stream from the Himalayas. Or fill up the boiled water in a water bottle in the teahouses paying an extra charge. Always carry water purifying solutions for proper water treatment and to be safe. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated to prevent altitude sickness.
Everest Link’s Wi-Fi card provides internet all over the Everest region. So, internet connectivity is easily available and stable in the lower regions. Mobile Network is also stable in the lower regions. You can also purchase a Sim and use mobile data from it. In higher altitudes, internet connectivity and mobile network are hard to find.
Lukla is the gateway for any trekking or climbing in the Everest region. From Lukla, pass through the villages of Chutanga, Chhatra Khola, Kothe, Thagnak, and Khare to arrive at the Mera Peak Base Camp. From the base camp, trekkers prepare for the Mera Peak Climbing.

Permits are mandatory in the Himalayas of Nepal. Our required permits are Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Entrance Permit, Sagarmatha National Park Permit (SNP), Mera Peak Climbing, and Garbage Deposit Fee.

A Garbage Deposit Fee is an essential permit to climb Mera Peak which is mandatory. Nepal Mountaineering Association charges a US$ 500 Garbage Deposit Fee and is refundable as per their rules and regulations. Preserving the environment is our responsibility too. Hence, follow the rules and regulations properly.
Travel Insurance is quintessential for Mera Peak climbing. It must cover all emergency evacuation, medical extremities, luggage loss/theft, flight cancellations, altitude above 4000m, etc. Thus, arrange travel insurance from a reputed agency as it is compulsory.

Winter season is risky and only a few adventurous dare to climb. The summer season is the least preferable compared to peak seasons. Overall, the spring season is best followed by the autumn season. Mera Peak is a Group B climbing peak classified by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Mera Peak climbing is actually demanding but thrilling at the same moment. With the proper assistance and guidance of experts in mountaineering, Mera Peak Climbing is achievable. When it comes to Mera Peak climbing, climbers should experience mountaineering at high altitudes and train in climbing, using gears and equipment before climbing the actual peak. Besides this, climbers must be in good health, and physically, & mentally fit as it is physically demanding. So, we recommend you participate in exercises, and physical training months before starting the actual climbing. Also, take necessary health tests before peak climbing. Altitude sickness is common in mountains above the altitude of 3000m. The trek starts from Lukla (2800m) and the altitude rises to the Mera Peak summit (6,476m) during the Mera Peak climbing. Thagnak and Khare are acclimatization rest spots to adjust to the altitude and prevent altitude sickness.
