Our Annapurna Circuit Trekking itinerary is comprised of 10 days that starts by a bus ride from Kathmandu to Besisahar and jeep sharing from Besisahar to Chame. Our journey from Chame to Manang takes 2 days of trekking and we’ll pass through several multicultural villages such as Bratang, Upper Pisang, Gheru, Nawol and Braka and traverse through alpine vegetation and towering Himalayan scenery of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna, Pisang Peak, Chulu West, Chulu Far East that makes our trek a life time experience.
During the voyage, we’ll trek through Manang Village situated at Manang Valley which is inhabitant by Gurung ethnic who are identified as Manangi, mostly they are from Tengi Manang and doing tourism business mainly lodges, tea houses, Bakery, Handicrafts and Souvenir where we’ll get to witness their culture and indulge local cuisines.

After welcoming at airport you will be transferred to the hotel in Thamel. Hotel welcomes you with a glass of fresh juice and do the formalities for check in. You will have a short meeting with a agency person and guide, can talk with guide about trekking and about trekking personal gears like jacket, medicine pills, trekking shoes which helps you to find out if you have forgotten to bring something for trekking. Day 02: Travel by bus to Besisahar-Bhulbhule, about 6 hours
We start our Annapurna Circuit trek from Kathmandu after breakfast. The public bus runs over the Prithvi highway along with the Trishuli River. You can see the additional landscape of the Himalayan country Nepal. Green forest and hill, constant Trishuli River, rivulet, farms, grassland, Himalayan views, and village. About in an hour after leaving Prithvi Highway to Pokhara, you will reach Besisahar. Besisahar is the district Headquarter of Lamjung District, bus may stop here as most passengers get off from bus and things by passenger need to be onloaded, so you will have some time to buy something if you need any. Road condition from Besisahar starts off road so this can be adventurous bur journey from you. You will reach in an hour at Bhulbhule where you will sleep tonight, overnight lodge
Today you will be travelling all the way on off road and adventurous and scary as the road leads through middle of the rocky mountain mostly. But will enjoy nature, rainy dense forest, white mountain in the left side of Himal, You will follow Marsyangdi River (white water) continuously till end of Manang District-Thorong Fedi. You will pass the suspension bridge, time and again; some beautiful settlements of Tamang ethnic, inspired by Tibetan Buddhism. After reaching Chame you have time look around as you reach Chame earlier, Chame is the District Headquarter of Manang district. Local People and professional trekkers - climbers reach the Manang at the same day. but you will stay overnight for your acclimatization.
You start your trekking today instead taking vehicle to Manang. Your aim is to cross Thorong La Pass and get to another region Mustang, so it's so good if you start walking from Chame, you will get acclimatized and make you more fit and strong mentally and physically, Altitude can be problem if you go directly to Manang by vehicle. You are scending today and pass some beautiful local villages one like Bratang, After crossing suspension bridge after Bratang the trek starts steep scending for an hour but through beautiful pine forest and finally you reach Dhikur Pokhari where you will have lunch. After Dhikur Pokhari the trail starts easier and walking on flat. You will see tremendously towering Himalaya Lanjung and Annapurna during the day, overnight Pissang.
one is easy way directly to the Manang through the Valley and another trail through Upper pisang, Ngwaol- you can choose one way among two at Pisang. The upper one was offered by the representative of Destination Himalaya treks because it offers massive views of various mountains of the Annapurna range on the left front, beautiful valley and pass through amazing local villages. Taking Upper trail is strenuous, steep climbing and longer but you will have an amazing day. Its also better for your further journey and best for you to get acclimatized, overnight Manang.
Today is your acclimatization day. It is necessary for your health and makes the body balance. There are two possibilities to explore the day. After breakfast you walk up to Lama Cave just above Manang where old aged Lama couple used to live and blessings the visitors with a cup of black tea and you had to pay 100 rupee in return. They both are passed away and some others living there by doing same practice. It's believed that they will cross Thorong La Pass after getting Lama's blessings. However this journey will make you very good acclimatized. Another possibility is to go Ice Lake which is highly situated nearly 4500 meters height. Its a long and tough day but Lake itself is so beautiful and you will see many towering Himalaya peaks in surround. This journey takes about 8-9 hours so you will take a packed lunch, there of course will be your guide with you during your journey, overnight at Manang.
After taking breakfast at Hotel you will be heading to Yakhkharka which is your destination for today. After short walk you are in Tengi- Old Manang Village. It's a beautiful old village with Mananges (people from Manang) people as inhabitant clustard settlement. People from this typical village do the farming for living. You will continue walking till Khopra and take a rest at tea shop for a cup of tea. The walking trail begins slowly easier as you are not ascending much, gradually going up but you still feel on your breath as you are walking on high altitude. Today you will enjoy more with white Himalaya and landscape. Overnight at Yakh Kharka.
Today you can start your day quite late than usual as it's too cold in the morning and not far way to the Thorong Fedi. The trail is gradually ascending to Thorong Phedi and be able to see some white peaks like Akwakang, and Thorong peak, and many unnamed peaks towards Nepal and Tibet border. After walking for about 3 hours you will reach Thorong Phedi, 4450m where tourists used to stay when there was no tea house (lodge) at High Camp. We will have lunch here and walk steeply up to Thorong High Camp which may take another an hour. You can even stay at Thorong Fedi if your physical condition is unwilling to walk up further, but reaching and sleeping overnight in High Camp, makes your most toughest day tomorrow easier and little shorter. Today you will start your day early in the morning. So you go early bed for this preparation and wake up early. However your guide will brief all about this during the trekking. It's a most challenging day as you are crossing Thorong La (5416m) and sadly there is no lodge or place to have lunch in between. About four hours climbing up to the Pass marked by the chorten and prayer flags. As you reach the top, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Nilgiri and the massif Dhaulagiri (8167m). You can have a cup of coffee over the pass, you are not allow to stay longer in Pass as there starts a big wind. Downhill walking to Muktinath is about 4-5 hours, long way down so your legs may feel it at the end during descending. When you will reach at Muktinath, will see many trekkers and domestic pilgrims. Muktinath Temple is a Holy Temple for religiously Hindus people. Its believed that if they can take shower with 108 running water taps, the god will be happy with their worshipping. Today you got a victory, you can have a party with your guide and porters, Overnight Muktinath.
Today it's an easy walking day, but we can still have a problem in the afternoon as it is too windy through the Kaligandaki Valley. So we started walking on time. After walking for 3 hours, we will reach Kagbeni, a very old village, it's a gateway to Upper Mustang. We will have a look at a very old monastery at Kagbeni before taking lunch. Now we head on to Jomsom through the Kaligandaki River. From Jomsom, trekkers can continue to walk to Marpha for an overnight stay. We can also fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. Overnight in Jomsom.
Take a early breakfast and ready for airport. It's few minutes walking distance from your hotel to the airport. Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara is awesome, you will be flying over the valley and see the series of Himalaya likewise series of Nilgiri, Annapurna Himalaya series, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Dhaulagiri glacier, Tukuche peak, Dhampus Peak and so many white peaks. This is absolutely scenic mountain flight. Flight from Jomsom is bout 25 minutes, you wish there is longer flight, absolutely amazing. Landing Pokhara airport and guide will take you to the Hotel which is booked by agency.
You will have a whole day to explore Pokhara City, specially Fewa Lake in Lake Side (Lake side is the name of area-place). You can shake hands with guide and porters after reaching Hotel. Your guide and porter expect Tip at the end, well its not mandatory.
After having breakfast at hotel you will be taken to tourist bus station for journey to Kathmandu, its about 7 hours driving. This might take longer sometimes due to road blocks or traffic on highway. Bus will stop somewhere in halfway for lunch. The highway is perfect during Spring and Autumn season. After driving about 2 hours you will reach Dumre from where you were driven to Besisahar. Once you reach Kathmandu your trip package finishes. Accommodations in the Annapurna Circuit Treks are mostly teahouses/guesthouses. The teahouses are comfortable with basic facilities. The extra charge must be paid for the use of facilities like hot water buckets, laundry, charging, internet, and electricity in the guesthouses.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are provided during the trekking from the guesthouses. The meals are basic and suitable for the health of the trekkers. The main dish is Nepali Dal Bhat which provides enough energy throughout 7/8 hours of the trek. The variety of meals is hard to find but meals prepared from home-grown crops are a treat during this trek.
Drinking water is easily available at the teahouses. You can buy a mineral water bottle but you should do proper disposal of plastic bottles. You can also fill boiled water at teahouses paying extra charges. Always carry a water bottle and water purification medicine to prevent from unwanted health issues. During trekking, drink direct freshwater from the flowing stream using water purification treatment.
The internet facility is easily available in the vicinity of the Annapurna region. The internet is fairly stable in the lower regions. A little instability or no availability at high altitudes. By paying extra charges at teahouses, internet facility, electricity for charging can be used. The phone signal is also good but may not work at high altitudes. Using a local sim card, an internet facility can also be used.
The starting point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek is from Chamje and ends in Jomsom. Take a flight to Pokhara and return to Kathmandu.

Spring and Autumn seasons are the best time followed by the summer season for Annapurna Circuit Trek. The weather is clear and sunny during these seasons. The trail is also comfortable to walk. Rainy and Winter season treks are for experienced trekkers. Only a few adventurous trekkers dare to trek during these seasons. We recommend you plan carefully if you want to trek during the off-season.
Annapurna Circuit Trek’s difficulty is moderately challenging. The trek includes a trail having many steep ascends, descends, rough trails, and icy and slippery during winter and rainy seasons. The trekker with average physical fitness and good health condition can complete the trek. Proper preparation and guidance before starting the trek are fruitful. So, we recommend you participate in exercises, day hikes, and physical training months before starting the trek. Also, take necessary health tests before trekking to high altitudes. Acclimatization rest is necessary during trekking. The trek starts from Chamje (1,430m) and the altitude rises to Thorong La Pass (5,416m) during the trek. Manang valley is our acclimatization rest day. It helps prevent altitude sickness and adapt to the environment.
